Teresa Sandeman-Charles but always known as T, has been diagnosed with a very rare lung condition. This is causing her lungs to slowly lose the ability to move in and out. Eventually they will stop working and she will die unless she has a lung transplant. Unfortunately the chances of a transplant are very slim and this has highlighted to T the lack of organs available.

T is determined to use her illness to help others, and has challenged herself to increase the number of organ donors by a minimum of 10,000 by setting up her own charity Save5. She has used hundreds of pounds of her own money to launch her campaign.

Over 2,000 people have now registered online through Save5 which means we could save or transform in excess of 10,000 lives sometime in the future.

There are over 200 different types of cancer, each with its own name and treatment regime. One in 3 people will be affected by cancer at some point in their lives, either as a patient or a carer for a friend or loved one.

Macmillan Cancer Support is a charity set up to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. It provides practical, medical and financial support to those directly and indirectly affected by cancer.

People need practical support at home, so they provide anything from some precious time off for a carer, to a lift to hospital.

People need emotional support, so Macmillan listens, advises and shares information though its cancer support specialists, website and trained professionals.

People need financial help to cope with the extra costs cancer can bring, so Macmillan give benefits advice, and grants for anything from heating bills to travel costs.
